Cambridge Enterprise

Cambridge, GBPosted Jul 27, 2026

Job description

West Cambridge | From £37,500 | Fixed term, 2-years | Hybrid, 2 days WFH Help deliver a major life sciences conference that brings Cambridge’s innovation community together. Why you will love this role: This role sits at the centre of the Cambridge-AZ-Beijing Life Sciences Collaboration Programme, a partnership between the University of Cambridge, Astra.

Zeneca and partners in Beijing focused on international collaboration, knowledge exchange and innovation in life sciences. You’ll lead the planning and delivery of the Cambridge-AZ-Beijing Life Sciences Forum, a flagship two-day conference held across Cambridge and Beijing. It will bring together people from academia, industry, healthcare and government, so the detail really matters.

The work is varied and practical. One day might be focused on venue, travel and delegate planning. Another might involve speaker briefings, supplier coordination, budgets, risk logs or event-day delivery. You’ll work closely with the Global Outreach Manager, Astra. Zeneca colleagues and a wide range of external partners, while being employed by Cambridge Enterprise.

The role also supports Global Outreach and the wider Entrepreneurship & Ecosystems team where needed. Without this role, the forum would not have the structure, coordination or careful planning needed to bring senior stakeholders, speakers, suppliers and delegates together smoothly.

What we're looking for

You have significant experience planning and delivering large-scale conferences or international events. You understand the life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology or wider innovation ecosystem. You’re confident working with senior stakeholders, speakers, VIPs and external partners. You can coordinate complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners.

You bring strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage several priorities at once. You communicate clearly and build effective working relationships with a wide range of people. You have a sharp eye for detail and keep your work accurate, especially when plans are moving quickly. You’re comfortable creating useful event materials, such as running orders, briefing packs, attendee lists, speaker schedules and post-event reports.

Nice to have

Experience supporting international delegations, visits or overseas engagement activities. Familiarity with Dynamics 365 and Asana. Experience in the life sciences, healthcare, biotechnology or research sector. Chinese language skills. You can view the job description for this role here → Events & Admin Lead (AZ) JD
