Job description

• Act as civil technical authority for Wind, Solar PV and BESS projects.

  • Define, maintain and enforce Owner civil design criteria, standards and technical specifications.
  • Review, challenge and approve EPC and OEM civil and structural designs, calculations and drawings.
  • Oversee earthworks, grading, roads, drainage systems, foundations and structural works.
  • Review and approve geotechnical investigations, soil reports and foundation concepts.
  • Manage civil interfaces between foundations, structures, roads, drainage, fencing, buildings and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Support procurement activities, including technical evaluation of civil and structural contractors.
  • Support construction, inspection, quality control and civil works completion.
  • Support achievement of Commercial Operation Date (COD) and project handover.
  • Provide civil input to contractual, commercial and technical risk management discussions.
  • Support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams post-COD, including settlement issues, access roads, drainage and structural integrity.
  1. Minimum Experience Requirements 4.1 General Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil engineering within power generation, infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
  • 7–10 years of direct experience in utility-scale Wind, Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
  • Proven experience on large projects above 200 MW, standalone or hybrid.
  • Experience working under EPC, multi-contract or Owner-managed delivery models.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, civil subcontractors, consultants and supervision engineers. 4.2 Technology-Specific Experience
  • Candidates should demonstrate strong experience in at least one technology; multi-technology experience is highly preferred. Wind

  • Crane platforms, access roads and laydown areas.
  • Earthworks, drainage and slope stabilisation. Solar PV
  • Grading, earthworks and site preparation.
  • Foundations for fixed-tilt and tracker systems.
  • Internal roads, drainage, fencing and auxiliary buildings. BESS
  • Concrete foundations for BESS containers and equipment.
  • Control room buildings and auxiliary facilities.
  • Civil interfaces with HVAC, fire protection and electrical systems. Hybrid Systems
  • Civil layout coordination for Wind + PV + BESS plants.
  1. Technical Competencies
  • Civil and structural design review.
  • Earthworks, grading and drainage design.
  • Geotechnical engineering and foundation design concepts.
  • Concrete works and steel structures (civil scope).
  • Roads, pavements and heavy-load access design.
  • Construction quality control and inspection.
  • Interface management with mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  1. Contractual and Commercial Experience
  • Understanding of civil scope within EPC Contracts and Construction Subcontracts.
  • Experience supporting civil aspects of variations, change orders and claims.
  • Awareness of performance guarantees, construction milestones and acceptance criteria.
  • Support to contract management teams regarding delays, defects and workmanship issues.
  • Understanding of Owner and Lender civil requirements.
  1. HSE – Health, Safety & Environment
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements throughout all project phases.
  • Awareness of civil construction risks including excavation works, heavy equipment, lifting operations and working at height.
  • Ensure civil contractors comply with site HSE plans, method statements and permit-to-work systems.
  • Participation in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements and Risk Assessments related to civil works.
  • Support safe execution of civil construction activities in coordination with site HSE teams.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and “Zero Harm” mindset.
  1. Geographic and Market Experience
  • Preferable experience in Middle East renewable energy projects.
  • Utility-scale GCC IPP projects.
  • Desert, remote or harsh-climate construction environments.
  • Projects with complex logistics and site access challenges.
  • Multicultural international project exposure.
  1. Reporting and Documentation
  • Preparation and review of civil engineering reports.
  • Review and approval of civil and structural drawings.
  • Review of construction methodologies and inspection plans.
  • Participation in punch list management and handover dossiers.
  • Review of as-built documentation.
  • Contribution to monthly project progress reports from a civil perspective.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
  • At least 5–7 years in utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in construction and site activities.
  • English proficiency B2–C1.
  • Availability for site presence and international travel.

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. •
