Job description
- Commissioning preparation phase
- Position based in United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), resident, with mission to construction sites and vendor premises (FAT)
- Ensure HSE aspects are proactively addressed during the preparation phase by participating in commissioning risk assessments and validating that all safety requirements are reflected in contractor procedures.
- Review and approve commissioning preparation deliverables from the contractor, including work distribution, system/sub-system breakdown, prioritization, resource planning, scheduling, and team coordination.
- Review and approve the Commissioning procedures (transfer, interfaces, punch list, internal organization…),
- Ensure the ICAPS© database is well parameterised for Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning activities.
- Review and approve the Commissioning dossiers and test procedures (including ICAPS© database populating and Operational Test Procedures writing),
- Validate that all commissioning team members and contractors are trained and competent in COMPANY standards, safety protocols, and commissioning methodology.
- Optimise the Commissioning schedule and start-up sequence,
- Validate the mobilization plan for personnel and vendors.
- Identify and address all interface issues with other project packages with respect to Commissioning,
- Validate the overall Commissioning plan,
- Coordinate early engagement with Field Operations to ensure alignment on commissioning boundaries, handover expectations, and operational readiness.
- Commissioning execution phase
- Position based in Iraq (construction site), rotational (4 ON, 4 OFF)
- Ensure that commissioning activities are executed safely and in full compliance with project requirements, schedule, and milestones.
- Ensure that all commissioning activities are executed under the appropriate permit-to-work system and that SIMOPS (simultaneous operations) risks are mitigated.
- Responsible for witnessing and monitoring the Pre-commissioning activities performed by the Contractor,
- Countersign all Pre-commissioning dossiers at Ready For Commissioning (RFC) status,
- Control all Commissioning activities performed by the Contractor,
- Check progress against planning and recommend any necessary corrective actions,
- Manage punch list clearance prior to final commissioning completion.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of commissioning activities.
- Report immediately any unexpected events which may affect the Commissioning of the plant or the start up,
- Review and approve the Commissioning dossiers after completion of Commissioning activities and sign the Achievement Of Commissioning and Transfer to Operations and Maintenance certificates
- Ensure that all systems meet the defined criteria for handover to Operations, including documentation, punch list clearance, and performance testing.
- Document and share lessons learned during commissioning to support continuous improvement and future project phases.
Requirements
Engineer Professional Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Oil & Gas Projects activities and familiar with typical onshore pipelines installation.
- Good ability to organize and manage a team and coordinate his activities and responsibilities with other entities/stakeholders of the Project (Packages Managers, Construction, Vendors, other Commissioning entities and Field Operations team).
- Knowledge in Commissioning methodology (OPERCOM™) and his application software (ICAPS©) are mandatory.
- Experience working in a client role interfacing with EPC/EPSCC contractors. Language: fluency in English is mandatory.
