Job description
The Aftermarket Estimator is responsible for analyzing construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material, labor, equipment, and time estimates for products, projects, and services. Prepares preliminary and final estimates based on project plans and specifications. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and develops itemized cost estimates.
Computes cost factors for planning, scheduling, bid preparation, vendor and subcontractor selection, and cost-effectiveness evaluations. Conducts studies to establish standard hour and cost data and identify cost-saving opportunities. Consults with stakeholders to develop estimates, resolve issues, and revise estimates.
May specialize in a particular service, product type, or phase of work.
