Summary: The Engineering & Maintenance role within the Manufacturing industry is a critical position responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of production equipment and facilities. This role supports continuous manufacturing operations by proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical, electrical, and systems-related issues.
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with production teams, engineering departments, and maintenance staff to implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, improve equipment uptime, and drive operational efficiency. By leveraging technical expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Engineering & Maintenance professional plays a key role in maintaining production standards, reducing downtime, and supporting sustainability and safety goals within the manufacturing environment.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, hands-on engineer or technician seeking to grow their career in a dynamic, results-driven manufacturing setting. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on manufacturing machinery and systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic/electrical faults using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and work orders using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and support rapid response to equipment failures.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and company safety and quality standards.
- Support equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications in coordination with engineering and operations teams.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and equipment performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
- Assist in training junior maintenance personnel and promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. - 1–3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance, industrial equipment repair, or a similar technical role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Experience with CMMS software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause resolution.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and industrial safety protocols.
- Familiarity with PLCs, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime, as needed to support production schedules. Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, or related field (e.g., CompTIA A+, ASE, or NCCER).
- Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, or oil analysis.
- Exposure to automation and robotics in manufacturing environments.
