Package
- Salary: R15,000 – R18,000 per month DOE
- Opportunity to work within a prestigious luxury wine estate kitchen The Role The Junior Sous Chef will assist in the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring consistent food quality, efficient service and adherence to high culinary standards. This role requires a hands-on chef who is eager to learn, contribute creatively and support the broader kitchen team in delivering outstanding dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Prepare and present dishes to high culinary standards
- Ensure consistency, quality and presentation across all food offerings
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during service
- Maintain high levels of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards
- Assist with stock control, ordering and waste management
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal updates
- Ensure efficient kitchen workflow during service periods
- Support training and development of junior kitchen staff
- Follow all health, safety and operational procedures Requirements
- Previous experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a high-end or fine dining kitchen
- Strong culinary skills and understanding of kitchen operations
- Passion for food, creativity and presentation
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Relevant culinary qualification advantageous
