Summary: The Entry-Level Project Officer supports the effective delivery of services for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) within designated operational zones. This role provides foundational technical assistance and field-level support to caregivers and community case workers, contributing to the successful implementation of OVC programs.
Under the guidance of the QIHE Project Manager, the officer assists in capacity building, monitors program activities, and helps document key learnings and best practices. The position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social service delivery, community engagement, and project support, while contributing to improved outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
The officer also plays a supportive role in reporting, knowledge management, and operational continuity, especially in the absence of the project manager.
Responsibilities
Assist in delivering technical support and guidance on OVC service delivery across assigned wards. Support the training and mentoring of community case workers and caregivers through field visits and on-the-job coaching. Collaborate with LGA social welfare units to identify and address OVC-related challenges. Help document program activities, lessons learned, and emerging best practices.
Contribute to knowledge management efforts by organizing and maintaining program records and reports. Prepare draft reports and update project tracking tools with accurate, timely data. Act as a backup point of contact for project operations during the QIHE Project Manager’s absence.
