Engineer/Sr. Engineer - Costing (ID 1238)
Job description
Prepare product process cost breakup for forged components by analysing each stage of the manufacturing process. Perform process cost validation for forging and machining operations to ensure accuracy in costing. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the technical and economic viability of manufacturing forged components.
Prepare RFQs (Request for Quotations) for suppliers and vendors based on project requirements. Review and approve Purchase Orders (POs) based on calculated costs and expected profit margins. Analyse and estimate packaging and forwarding costs involved in the dispatch of finished products. Implement zero-based costing for machines and equipment to ensure accurate cost allocation in production.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of forging processes, including closed die forging and open die forging, along with different steel grades. Understanding of machining processes, including: CNC machines VMC machines Conventional machines such as lathe and milling machines. Knowledge of material testing requirements and the associated testing costs.
Understanding of packaging, logistics, and forwarding processes involved in product dispatch. Ability to perform detailed cost analysis and cost validation for manufacturing processes. Capability to conduct technical and financial feasibility studies before production planning. Familiar with zero based costing on Machine / Equipments.
