Overview
We are hiring a Senior Oracle DBA to support and operate large-scale Oracle environments across on-prem and cloud platforms. This role is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for day-to-day operations, stability, performance, and automation of critical database systems. The expectation is strong execution, ownership of issues, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Oracle databases (19c and above) in 24x7 production environments
- Support high availability setups including RAC and Data Guard
- Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
- Execute database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities
- Manage backup and recovery using RMAN and validate DR readiness
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis with clear resolution
- Support cloud-based database environments (Azure, GCP)
- Automate routine tasks using Shell, Python, or Ansible
- Work closely with application teams to resolve performance and stability issues
- Ensure compliance with security standards, access controls, and audit requirements
- Provide timely incident response Requirements Required Skills
- 10+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and RMAN
- Solid performance tuning experience (SQL, AWR, ASH, execution plans)
- Strong Linux/Unix administration fundamentals
- Experience managing high-volume OLTP systems
- Hands-on scripting and automation experience
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex issues Preferred Skills
- Exposure to cloud migrations and hybrid architectures
- Familiarity with Postgres or MySQL environments
- Experience with monitoring tools like OEM, Prometheus, Grafana.
