Job description

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate daily records of financial transactions, including mobile money operations. Prepare timely financial statements and management reports Reconcile bank, mobile money, and system accounts (e.g., customer wallets, agent float, revenue accounts) Monitor and report on income, expenses, commissions, and financial performance.

Assist with budget preparation, cost analysis, and cash flow management. Ensure compliance with Tanzania tax regulations, reporting deadlines, and financial laws. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate reporting and cost tracking. Support audits by providing detailed documentation and explanations. Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies in the mobile money system.

Help maintain financial controls and risk management practices related to digital transactions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1–2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems). Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of mobile money operations or digital payment systems is an added advantage.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and financial regulations. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Preferred: Experience with Tanzanian tax systems (TRA requirements, VAT, PAYE, etc.)

is essential. Experience with regulatory compliance (BOT, TRA, etc.) CPA (T) or progress toward a professional accounting qualification is a plus.
