Summary: The Junior Logistics/Supply Chain Officer plays a vital role in supporting efficient and effective logistics and supply chain operations within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring timely movement of goods and personnel, maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, coordinating fleet activities, and supporting procurement and vendor management.
The role is critical in enabling smooth field operations, particularly in fast-paced environments such as NGO settings. With a focus on accuracy, compliance, and responsiveness, the officer contributes directly to the successful delivery of projects and services.
Responsibilities
Support transportation and movement of goods and personnel in line with operational needs. Maintain accurate logistics records, including waybills, delivery notes, and shipment documentation. Assist in fleet management, vehicle tracking, and coordination of maintenance schedules. Coordinate the distribution of project materials and supplies to field locations.
Monitor stock levels, conduct regular warehouse audits, and ensure proper storage practices. Support procurement processes and supply chain activities, including vendor engagement. Manage and update the Vendor Data Base to ensure accuracy and accessibility. Assist in organizing field movements and travel arrangements for staff and project teams.
Identify and report logistics challenges, and propose practical solutions. Ensure full compliance with safety standards, organizational policies, and logistics procedures.
