Glencore Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking a Trades Assistant Rubber Liner – Surface Workshop team, reporting to the Supervisor - Asset Support. This is a residential position based in Mount Isa, with some flexibility around roster options.

The Role

As part of an expanding team, this role suits a motivated individual seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity supporting the wider Metals Assets in a workshop environment. The ideal candidate is someone who recognises opportunity, challenges the status quo, and brings fresh thinking to the team. With a view to be trained to become Certificate III Polymer Technician.

The core responsibility of this role is to manage the rubber lining repair and maintenance workload, including but not limited to:

Assist with rebuild and refurbishment of rubber lined components used in mining and processing

Work with tradesperson to rubber line, reline, and apply protective wear surface applications

Assist with repetitive and planned rubber lining work

Ensuring quality standards and safe work practices are consistently met

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement

Providing high level service to Queensland Metals Asset stakeholders in both planned and breakdown scenarios

Creating a team focus on performance, safety and quality

Challenging cost and delivering value creation initiatives, including waste reduction

Sustain a high housekeeping standard and the cultural expectations that support them

Help manage Quality Assurance within the workshop team

The Successful Applicant Will Have:

Strong attention to detail and a proactive, can do attitude

Ability to articulate, demonstrate and promote the business vision

Previous experience in processing, or a large workshop environment an advantage

A current manual Australian driver’s licence an advantage

Basic to intermediate computer skills
