Job description
Role: Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Hilo, Hawaii Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients
- Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and hyperlipidemia
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests
- Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals
- Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable)
- Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care
- Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management
- Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff Requirements Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one
- National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- 1–2 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently with physician support
- EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred) Benefits Benefits:
