Job description
The Corporate Communications Senior Manager to lead digital-focused corporate communications initiatives in Japan. This role will play a key part in shaping the company’s corporate reputation by strategically leveraging digital platforms including corporate websites and social media. Working as part of the Japan Communications team, this position will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful internal and external communications while ensuring alignment with global brand standards and corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Corporate Communications Lead the strategic management and continuous improvement of the corporate website as a core owned media platform, ensuring content accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with corporate messaging and brand standards. Plan, develop, and optimize digital content across corporate channels including the website and social media to effectively engage key stakeholders such as media, patients, job seekers, employees, and the broader public.
Manage corporate social media channels, including editorial planning, content creation, community engagement, and performance optimization. Lead social media advertising initiatives, including campaign planning, budget oversight, execution, and performance analysis in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Establish and maintain digital governance frameworks, including content guidelines, approval workflows, and coordination with global and regional teams. Drive integrated digital communications that support corporate strategy, key business priorities, and brand positioning. Ensure consistency and integrity of corporate brand assets across all digital touchpoints.
Requirements
Required Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate communications or digital communications, ideally within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated industries. Strong expertise in digital content strategy, website management, and social media communications.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide data-driven insights to guide communication strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English, including experience preparing executive-level communications. Preferred Experience Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global organization.
Experience supporting crisis communications. Agile mindset with the ability to drive innovation, adapt to change, and continuously improve processes. Location Tokyo or Kobe, Japan Hybrid working model (office presence required approximately 2 days per week). Some domestic travel may be required. Limited international travel (approximately once per year) may occur.
