Senior Software Engineer - Engineering

As a Senior Software Engineer – Java Microservices, you will design and deliver backend services that power large-scale digital platforms. You will collaborate with product, architecture, and engineering teams to build modular and scalable microservices aligned with enterprise technology standards and business priorities.

This role requires deep expertise in Java-based service development, distributed system design, and cloud-native architectures, along with the ability to influence technical decisions that shape secure, resilient, and scalable solutions across the organization. Delivery and Execution:

• Design and deliver scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices that align with enterprise architecture standards
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear service designs and API specifications
• Implement REST and event-driven integrations using Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Write clean, testable code and ensure high-quality unit and integration test coverage
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical feedback, and uphold coding best practices
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across environments; drive root cause analysis
• Ensure services are production-ready with proper logging, monitoring, metrics, and resiliency patterns
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams for seamless delivery Support and Enablement:
• Maintain clear technical documentation, including API definitions, runbooks, and design notes
• Support process improvements that increase stability, performance, and development efficiency
• Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture rooted in quality, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement Requirements Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Certifications in Oracle Java SE, AWS or Azure cloud certifications, Kubernetes (CKAD/CKA) and Terraform are preferred Required Experience:
• 4–7 years of experience in backend engineering, focused on building enterprise-ready services using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native microservice patterns
• Ability to collaborate effectively in global delivery models, preferably within a Global Capability Center (GCC) or geographically distributed teams Essential Skills:
• Proficiency in Java (17 or above) and Spring/Spring Boot for microservices development
• Experience with designing and consuming REST APIs and asynchronous communication patterns
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases; experience with ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA)
• Hands-on experience messaging platforms (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, unit and integration testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills
• Ability to contribute to design discussions and mentor junior engineers Desired Skills:
• Experience with Kubernetes or cloud orchestration platforms
• Familiarity with API gateways, service mesh, or distributed tracing tools
