JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Red Bluff, CA Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Aug 10, 2026 – Dec 22, 2026 Shift Schedule: 24-Hour Call Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20 minutes Reason for Coverage: Permanent provider decreasing coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance Covered COVERAGE DATES Aug 10 – Aug 12, 2026 Oct 12 – Oct 15, 2026 Oct 26 – Oct 30, 2026 Oct 31 – Nov 3, 2026 Nov 23 – Nov 27, 2026 Dec 14 – Dec 18, 2026 Dec 19 – Dec 22, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 16-20 Admissions: N/A Case Mix: Full scope OB GYN, Deliveries, Gynecological surgeries FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Cerner Support Staff Available: Dedicated MA, Practice Manager PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 30-60 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Deliveries (C-section/vaginal), Gynecological surgeries JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified OBGYN (BC) highly preferred; Board Eligible (BE) accepted if on staff at another Joint Commission hospital without monitoring.
Licenses: Active California License (CA) required DEA: Active DEA Certification required Certifications: BLS, NRP/PALS required during credentialing AOther Qualifications: Clean malpractice/background, Local provider preferred, Availability for specified dates Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24-hour call coverage for OB and GYN emergency department.
Perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries. Perform gynecological surgeries. Manage OB/GYN emergencies. Respond within 20 minutes when on call.
