Job Description:
- Strategic Planning and Management Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and initiatives for postgraduate education. Lead the operational management of the Centre of Postgraduate Studies to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. Monitor and evaluate postgraduate performance indicators and recommend improvement strategies. Support the University's goals in expanding postgraduate enrolment and programme offerings.
- Postgraduate Academic Administration Oversee the admission, registration, progression, examination, and graduation processes for postgraduate students. Ensure compliance with university regulations, accreditation standards, and requirements set by relevant authorities. Coordinate the review and enhancement of postgraduate academic policies and procedures. Manage postgraduate records and reporting requirements.
- Research and Thesis Management Coordinate processes related to research proposals, supervision appointments, progress monitoring, thesis examination, and viva voce. Monitor postgraduate students' research progress and completion rates. Facilitate the implementation of best practices in postgraduate research management. Ensure adherence to research ethics and academic integrity requirements.
- Student Support and Development Develop initiatives to enhance postgraduate student experience and academic success. Address student enquiries, concerns, and appeals relating to postgraduate studies. Organise orientation programmes, workshops, seminars, and research development activities. Foster a supportive and conducive postgraduate learning environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with faculties, schools, academic staff, and external stakeholders on postgraduate matters. Build partnerships with industry, professional bodies, healthcare institutions, and research organisations. Promote postgraduate programmes through outreach and recruitment activities.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance Ensure postgraduate programmes comply with Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and university requirements. Coordinate programme accreditation, audits, and quality assurance exercises. Prepare reports, statistics, and documentation for management and regulatory bodies.
- Leadership and People Management Lead, supervise, and develop CPS staff to achieve departmental objectives. Foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operational requirements. Job Requirement: Qualifications and Experience Essential Master's Degree in a relevant field from a recognised institution. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in higher education administration, academic management, or postgraduate studies administration. Experience in policy development, academic governance, and stakeholder management. Preferred Doctoral qualification. Experience in managing postgraduate programmes, research administration, or quality assurance. Knowledge of MQA, MOHE, and higher education regulations.
