Job description

London (office-based)

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer If you build pipelines, sell, tender for, or lead marketing services within the security or wider facilities management services sector, this is an opportunity you are unlikely to have encountered before. Most organisations of our size divide sales, marketing and bid management across three separate roles, or assign them to a business development manager without adequate support. We have taken a different approach: a single senior leader, one fully integrated function, a place on the executive team, and the budget and resources required to deliver.

About us

Dardan have a wealth of experience in delivering smart security solutions that go beyond safeguarding buildings, property, and staff. We combine the best in technology, mobile services, physical guarding, and consultancy. Our mission Be ethical, be authentic, be agile and be smart. We do our best and then do a little bit more, every time.

Our Vision To be a trusted partner for Security solutions through intelligence, innovation, and influence. Reward and Benefits £65,000 to £70,000 per annum, dependent on experience 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 25 days paid holiday, plus bank holidays Unlimited training and opportunities to progress Recognition rewards Access to a 24/7 employee wellbeing support line Virtual GP Service Earn an extra bonus through recommend a Friend Scheme, no limits The Opportunity We are looking for a Head of Commercial Growth to take ownership of our entire sales pipeline.

From the first piece of market data through to the submitted tender and the presentation that wins it. Reporting to you will be two commercial team members, whose work spans bid submissions and data mining activity. This is a hands-on senior role, not a purely strategic one. You will build the target list, know why each name is on it, make sure the right conversations are happening, and be in the room when the pitch is made.

You will also own our relationship with our external marketing agency, directing their work so that it feeds the pipeline rather than sitting alongside it. You will join the Senior Leadership Team as the voice of sales, marketing and bid management, lead a team of two, and report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.

The role is primarily office-based in London, with client meetings, site visits and industry events as required. What You Will Own Finding the opportunity – data mining, market intelligence and building a target list that reflects where Dardan genuinely wins. Qualifying it – client profiling, qualification and nurturing, so the team is spending its time on contracts worth chasing.

Getting in the door – lead generation and appointment setting, whether run in-house, through the agency or through your own network. Winning the work – managing PQQs, ITTs and tenders end to end: bid/no-bid decisions, timelines, content, pricing input from the wider business, and a submission that goes in early and reads well.

Closing it – preparing the team for client presentations and interviews, building the story, the slides and the answers to the difficult questions. The marketing engine – owning the day-to-day relationship with our marketing agency, setting the brief, directing campaigns and holding them to commercial results, not impressions.

The single source of truth – Hub. Spot is central to this role. You will keep the data clean, run direct marketing from it, report accurately on pipeline and forecast, and give the Board numbers it can rely on. Leadership – developing your two direct reports, representing the function at Senior Leadership Team level and shaping how Dardan grows over the next five years.

Presence in the market – conferences, exhibitions, networking and hospitality, used deliberately to build relationships and open doors. Essential Skills and Experience This is a broad role and we are looking for someone multi-talented who wants the whole picture. Essential Experience in B2B services sales, ideally within security, facilities management or a comparable contract services environment A track record of winning contracts through a full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, tender and presentation Practical experience of managing tenders, PQQs and ITTs, and of pulling a bid together to deadline Advanced working knowledge of CRM platforms, ideally Hub.

Spot, including reporting, forecasting and direct marketing Confidence directing external marketing support and judging the work commercially Experience leading or mentoring a small team The credibility to sit at Senior Leadership Team level and be challenged on your numbers Right to work in the UK and a five-year checkable history Desirable Knowledge of manned guarding, mobile patrols, technology-led security or soft FM services Familiarity with public sector and framework procurement Degree in business, sales, marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial leadership experience If you come from another progressive B2B service sector and can show us modern, data-led selling, we would still like to hear from you.
