Staff Sensor Validation & Characterization Engineer Experience: 10+ Years Location: Bangalore, India Notice Period: Immediate Joiner or max 30days About the Role We are seeking an experienced Staff Sensor Validation & Characterization Engineer to lead the validation and characterization efforts for next-generation LiDAR sensing products.

This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role where you will drive critical sensor validation activities while providing technical direction across the entire validation lifecycle.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities Sensor Validation & Characterization Own the end-to-end validation and characterization strategy for LiDAR sensor performance. Define comprehensive test plans, validation methodologies, acceptance criteria, and traceability to system and component requirements. Establish performance metrics and validation frameworks to support product development and release readiness.

Laboratory Testing & Measurement Lead hands-on sensor characterization activities in laboratory environments. Configure and operate test equipment and controlled test setups. Execute performance measurements including: Detection range Accuracy and precision Resolution Reflectivity response Velocity measurements Latency and timing performance Document, analyze, and communicate test results effectively.

Field Validation & Data Collection Plan and execute real-world validation campaigns. Design test scenarios and routes to evaluate sensor performance under varying operating conditions. Support vehicle instrumentation and synchronized data acquisition. Collect and analyze sensor data alongside reference systems for performance benchmarking.

Automation & Tool Development Develop and enhance automated validation frameworks, test tools, and data acquisition systems. Create scalable data processing pipelines and reporting tools. Improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and coverage through automation. Data Analysis & Root Cause Investigation Analyze large-scale lab and field datasets to identify: Performance trends Failure modes System regressions Environmental sensitivities Partner with hardware, firmware, optics, and algorithm teams to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Define validation interfaces and performance budgets with systems engineering teams. Ensure validation results directly support specification compliance and product requirements.
