Job description
The Purchasing Agent II will be able to communicate effectively and successfully negotiate pricing and delivery of needed components from domestic and international suppliers. Issuing purchase orders to suppliers and tracking or expediting delivery of purchased goods is a daily task. The Purchasing Agent II must adhere to purchasing budgets for each supplier while maintaining proper inventory levels with an often-changing production schedule.
Coordinating efforts between suppliers and engineering is an ongoing effort. It is necessary to forecast future product needs using a variety of tools to ensure product availability. Continuous supplier evaluation of pricing, product availability and quality is required. Making logistics decisions to ensure best value is another ongoing, daily task.
