Job description

In this role you will be responsible for:

Conducting a thorough inspection of the Overland conveyors to identify mechanical defects (worn out idlers, belt training etc.) spillages and take the corrective action required to promote minimal downtime and the integrity of the pellet exports going to the smelter section;

Communicating via two-way radio to the Plant Operators the instructions for sending pellets to the correct pellet barricades or pellet silos , to ensure that the coordinators specifications and instructions are met;

Ensuring that the sample drums are cleaned and prepared accordingly before new pellet samples are collected to avoid inaccurate sampling taking place;

Performing general house-keeping along the relevant section of the belt for each shift, to promote a safe working environment;

Ensuring adherence to all Glencore specific processes, procedures and works instructions to mitigate the risk associated with non-compliance;

Providing a complete and accurate verbal report to the assistant shift coordinator and relief team in respect of issues encountered during the shift; and

Performing any other duties assigned to by the supervisor.

About you

Grade 12;

Minimum of 12 months operating a loading system in a smelter environment;

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English;

Medically fit in terms of OHSAct; and

Knowledge of HSEC Systems.
