Nurse Manager / Department Manager – Med. Surg, Telemetry & IMC Baystate Health Baystate Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager / Department Manager to lead patient care operations across Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care (IMC) units. This leadership role oversees nursing staff and daily clinical and operational functions while partnering with physicians and nursing leadership to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
The Nurse Manager ensures compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice while fostering staff engagement, development, and performance. Position Highlights Lead diverse Med. Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for nursing staff across Med. Surg, Telemetry, and IMC units Manage clinical, operational, and administrative functions of assigned departments Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance Lead performance improvement, quality, and patient safety initiatives Support staff orientation, education, competency assessment, and professional development Partner with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care Manage staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management Oversee departmental metrics including quality, utilization, productivity, and budgeting Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and patient-centered care environment Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Massachusetts required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Prior nursing leadership or management experience preferred THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH BAYSTATE!
