Agency: Weber Shandwick Job Function: Media Job Subfunction: Social Media and Influencer Marketing Job Description: Vice President, Influencer Strategy Position Overview The Vice President, Influencer Strategy serves as a key leader within the Integrated Media team, responsible for driving client excellence, leading influencer campaigns, and effectively managing high-performing teams.

This role will act as a trusted advisor to clients while remaining close to the day to day work to creating impactful, culture-driving influencer strategies from scratch. The VP will partner closely with account leaders to build scalable influencer solutions and ensure operational excellence on every campaign. The ideal candidate combines deep influencer expertise with a passion for storytelling, a proven ability to drive and lead teams, and a meticulous eye for detail to ensure all output is flawless, FTC-compliant, and attention-grabbing.

Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Strategy Creation Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, providing counsel on influencer marketing programs, creator partnerships, talent management, compensation structures, and risk management. Develop deep understandings of client businesses, audiences, and competitive landscapes to create impactful influencer strategies that drive measurable outcomes.

Lead the creation and execution of integrated influencer and creator programs in partnership with Strategy, Creative, Analytics, Paid Media, and Client Experience teams. Act as an escalation point for complex influencer engagements, ensuring best-in-class client service and program delivery. Content & Campaign Execution Champion the creation of amazing content with influencers, driven by a passion for creating good social content that tells a compelling story, rather than just relying on basic product pushes.

Maintain strong attention to detail, regularly reviewing and editing the work of more junior team members to ensure quality control. Ensure every piece of content and every post that goes out is perfectly aligned with FTC guidelines, brand safety standards, and remains highly attention-grabbing. Team Leadership & Talent Development Effectively drive, lead, and manage a high-performing influencer team while creating a culture of accountability, creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Proactively coach and mentor mid-to-junior staff members, editing their work and facilitating their growth in strategy development and campaign execution. Champion a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration to support evolving business needs. B2B & Enterprise Technology Expertise Provide hands-on strategic leadership for influencer programs supporting enterprise technology, innovation, and B2B business transformation initiatives.

Develop strategies that leverage industry experts, thought leaders, executives, and professional creators to drive business impact instead of just basic product pushes. Build and maintain relationships with influential voices across business, technology, leadership, and professional creator communities. Bring deep expertise in working with LinkedIn creators, executive voices, and professional B2B influencer ecosystems.

Business Development & Growth Lead influencer strategy efforts for new business opportunities and support inbound requests across the network. Identify opportunities to expand influencer services across existing accounts and unlock incremental revenue opportunities. Partner with account leaders to solve business challenges, strengthen client relationships, and drive organic growth.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in influencer marketing, social media, communications, or integrated marketing, preferably within an agency environment. Proven experience leading large-scale influencer programs and effectively managing teams. Deep understanding of the influencer marketing landscape, creator economy, social platforms, and emerging industry trends.

A hands-on strategic thinker with exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and storytelling abilities. Meticulous attention to detail, with a deep understanding of FTC guidelines, risk management, and quality assurance in social content. Experience building and scaling teams while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.

You must be open to a public-facing role; willingness to speak publicly about influencer trends when opportunities present itself to the WS Influencer Team.

Know how to identify and manage diverse vendors and partners: in an industry where technologies (saas platforms, AI, managed services, etc) are popping on the daily, at high volume, no less, you must have experience working with RFPs and meeting with leading tech companies to understand their services and identify their uniqueness (and keep up with their ongoing changes in our WS influencer database) Be ready to lead at any moment: working with the Influence Lead, NA, you will learn to “step up to the plate” and lead effectively in the client’s and agency’s best interests while also helping to cultivate, mentor and coach mid to junior staff members on the influencer team.

Hustle: identify influencer opportunities (organic or new) to ensure influencer marketing continues to be a strong marketing discipline and revenue driver on your assigned account or at Weber Shandwick. Think like a lawyer: risk management is big to us. you understand how important it is to follow best practices (FDA guidelines, FTC updates, platform requirements), continuously build our COE by partnering with legal and finance to ensure risk and liabilities are reduced and tamed for every campaign you touch.

Have experience building engaged audiences: on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik. Tok, Clubhouse and other distribution platforms. Know how to build a story: you will build client presentations that tell smart, compelling stories, never “rinse and repeat” which requires you to be highly motivated, energetically charged and inspired at all times.

$125,000.00 - $165,000.00 Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
