Fire, Rescue & safety trainer (recruiting from abroad)

Our Client, Malta’s leading training and operational services provider, is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Instructor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, coaching and mentoring while managing all aspects of the training experience. The role involves ensuring the safe, effective and professional delivery of training programmes, maintaining operational standards, supporting course development, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The General Instructor will play a key role in supporting students’ development while ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety standards and Quality Management System requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering and supervising training programmes while ensuring all activities are conducted safely, effectively and in line with company procedures and quality standards. Coaching, mentoring and supporting trainees by maintaining high standards of discipline, safety awareness and professional conduct throughout the training experience.

Monitoring training facilities, equipment and resources to ensure operational readiness, including supporting inspections, maintenance activities and compliance documentation. Assisting with course planning, development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance training quality and operational effectiveness. Conducting risk assessments, implementing safety procedures and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including the correct use of PPE.

Supporting on-site and off-site training activities, including client-specific programmes and additional operational duties aligned with business requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience working within a training environment, preferably within Fire and Rescue Services, emergency response, safety training or a similar operational setting. Strong knowledge of health and safety practices, risk management principles and safe training delivery within practical environments. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to deliver technical instructions and engage effectively with trainees, colleagues and clients.

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in training documentation, equipment inspections and operational procedures. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating professionalism, reliability and a proactive approach. Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Licenses & Qualifications: The following will be considered an asset, depending on role:

• Relevant instructor, training delivery or education qualifications.
• Health and Safety qualifications or certifications related to workplace safety and risk management.
• Firefighting, Fire and Rescue Service, emergency response or operational safety certifications.
• Experience with specialist safety equipment, training systems or practical training environments.
• Valid driving licence and flexibility to support training delivery at different locations.
• Additional industry-specific certifications relevant to fire, rescue, emergency response or technical instruction.
