- Lead by example in promoting a “safety-first” culture, ensuring all team members operate in a safe and compliant manner.
- Coordinate and execute material transference plans with external partners, including customers, suppliers, and transportation providers.
- Monitor and confirm the receipt of shipments and ensure accurate documentation of inbound and outbound logistics.
- Manage the interdepartmental transport of materials within the facility to ensure timely and efficient operations.
- Understand operational impacts and conduct root cause analysis to support continuous improvement.
- Develop, communicate, and deliver training programs, gather employee feedback, and recommend operational improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions that improve logistics performance and reduce costs.
- Build and maintain strong business partnerships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
- Demonstrate logical, systematic thinking and apply creative problem-solving techniques to overcome challenges.
- Foster teamwork, morale, and development of staff through coaching and mentorship.
- Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping, tracking, and reporting of shipments and receipts.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall plant and logistics goals.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as required to meet shipping schedules.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a shipping/receiving environment within automotive manufacturing.
- Experience with automotive logistics and Tier 1 supplier standards is required.
- Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures, transportation methods, and compliance regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, accomplish goals, and implement effective solutions.
Education
