Software Developer & Azure Support Engineer

Combining full-stack web application development with Microsoft cloud and infrastructure support, this hybrid role plays a core function in driving internal software solutions and maintaining modern IT operations. Based out of either the Plattekloof (Cape Town) or Bryanston (Sandton, Johannesburg) offices, the position is responsible for designing custom internal applications, building APIs, and delivering hands-on support across Azure, Microsoft 365, and network environments.

This technical role is well-suited to a versatile practitioner skilled in process automation, database maintenance, and multi-platform troubleshooting within an IT services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain clean, scalable internal web applications and REST APIs. Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize MySQL databases. Perform application testing, deployments, code debugging, and architectural documentation. Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.

Manage directory services, hybrid identities, and network governance using Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP. Support Windows Server infrastructure, IIS web servers, SSL certificates, and core networking fundamentals. Execute Power. Shell and Bash scripts to drive process automation and task scheduling.

Provide technical user support across Microsoft Office environments and remote platforms. Utilize AI-assisted development tools (such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude) to optimize workflows.

Requirements

Essential Requirements Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience. Higher Education Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Background Check Clearances: Ability to pass Qualification Authenticity Checks, Credit Reference Checks, Criminal Checks, Police Clearance Certificate, Driver's Licence Authentication, and Psychometric Testing.

Willingness to complete an interview practical test involving web application development, IIS troubleshooting, Power. Shell scripting, M365 user configuration, Azure VM connectivity diagnosis, and environment security strategies. Strong problem-solving ability, technical detail orientation, and customer-focused communication.

Desirable Requirements Relevant Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, MS-900, MD-102, SC-900). Working knowledge or experience with Python, Docker, or Linux. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Graph API, AI integration, and third-party API integrations. Required Software Skills Languages & Web: PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS / Tailwind, SQL / MySQL, REST APIs.
