Summary The Social Media Specialist develops, directs and implements social media for Moffitt Cancer Center, as well as fully integrates social and traditional media.

Along with the Social Media Manager, this position develops and implements tactics for maintaining, promoting and managing crossover between social and traditional media. This position promotes the Moffitt brand and services to online and social media audiences, with an emphasis on increasing engagement with online communities within the social media sphere.

Assists in educating and training physicians and team members on appropriate use of social media representing the Moffitt brand. Collaborates with Patient Relations and Patient Experience on patient issues management. Monitors Moffitt's digital presence for issues and reputation management. Required to know and maintain social media best practices.

Assesses and measures social media efforts regularly to demonstrate value and links to new businesses. Credential and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field. Minimum Five (5) years' experience planning and conducting social media outreach in a professional environment, including three (3) years executing social media strategies and three (3) years' experience with digital performance analytic tools.

Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required Demonstrated understanding of HTML, JavaScript, blogging and creative design tools. Superior writing skills and thorough command of AP style. Must be able to craft, repurpose and edit copy to produce engaging content. Exceptional communication, time management, multitasking and planning skills.

Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Google+, LinkedIn, etc. Working knowledge of graphic design principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

Executes comprehensive online social media plans and content. Monitors activity on Moffitt’s social media platforms; responds appropriately and analyzes engagement. Monitors trends in social media and manages all of Moffitt’s social media channels. Establishes, maintains and subsequently assists in training Moffitt team members on social media protocols and policy.

Salary Range $53,406.60 - $81,442.40 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
