Role Purpose We are looking for Department Managers across our exciting range of departments, including Building Materials, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Plumbing, Electrical, Tools, Décor, Paint, Flooring and more. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a department, develop teams, drive performance and create exceptional customer experiences in a brand-new store environment.

Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and achieve department targets Analyse performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement Develop commercial strategies to increase customer satisfaction and profitability Manage promotions, product availability and customer solution Lead, coach and develop a high-performing department team Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer focus Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new teammates Inspire teams to deliver exceptional service and results Ensure customers receive expert advice and tailored solutions Create a customer-first environment within the department Resolve customer concerns and improve service delivery Build customer loyalty through strong product knowledge and engagement Ensure product availability and effective stock management Monitor stock levels, replenishment and merchandising standards Partner with Supply Chain teams to improve stock flow Maintain high standards of department presentation and compliance Support the successful opening of the new Cornubia store Help establish department processes and operating standards Contribute ideas and improvements during the store setup phase Collaborate with store leadership and support teams Qualification and Experience Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification Diploma/Degree in Retail Management, Business Management, Sales or a related field (advantageous) Proven experience managing a retail department, sales team or commercial function Experience in a DIY, home improvement, retail or customer-focused environment (advantageous) Strong understanding of sales, stock management and merchandising principles Experience leading and developing teams Strong commercial awareness and ability to analyse performance Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills Passion for customers, people development and achieving results This advert will remain open for 8 weeks as part of our new store opening recruitment drive.
