Job description

Nextlink is seeking an experienced MES Developer / Connect IoT Expert to design, develop, customize, and integrate Critical Manufacturing MES solutions that enable smart factory automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C#/.NET development, equipment integration, and factory connectivity, with hands-on experience in Critical Manufacturing MES customization and industrial communication protocols.

This role involves developing high-performance MES applications, integrating manufacturing equipment with enterprise systems, and delivering scalable solutions for advanced manufacturing environments such as semiconductors, electronics, robotics, medical devices, and other high-tech industries.

Key Responsibilities

MES Development Develop, customize, and maintain Critical Manufacturing MES applications using C#/.NET Core. Configure and extend MES functionality across backend, frontend, and equipment integration layers. Develop reusable, scalable, and high-performance software components following best development practices. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize MES applications to ensure system reliability and performance.

Design and implement equipment integration solutions using Critical Manufacturing Connect IoT. Integrate manufacturing equipment using industry-standard protocols including: OPC OPC UA SECS/GEM MQTT HSMS TCP/IP RS-232 FTP REST APIs Develop reliable interfaces between manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and MES applications.

Support factory automation and real-time shop-floor connectivity initiatives.

Requirements

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of experience in C#/.NET Core software development. Minimum 4 years of experience in high-level equipment integration using OPC and/or SECS/GEM standards. Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Critical Manufacturing MES, including backend, frontend, and equipment integration customization.

Critical Manufacturing MES Developer and Connect IoT Certification. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Willingness to work from the customer location in Sweden and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in semiconductor, electronics, robotics, medical device, or advanced manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of manufacturing production processes and factory automation. Experience working with Agile software development methodologies. Experience leading small technical teams or mentoring developers.

Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes. Knowledge of software architecture, scalability, and performance optimization. Required Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent software design and debugging abilities. Strong understanding of industrial automation and equipment connectivity.
