Technical Sales Solutions Engineer (recruiting from Malta)

Our Client, a leading engineering solutions provider in Malta, is expanding its Commercial Department and is seeking a skilled Technical Sales Solutions Engineer (Mechanical) to join its dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing innovative and cost-effective technical solutions, supporting the preparation of tenders, and managing the full pre-sales process for fire protection and compartmentation systems.

This role combines mechanical engineering expertise, technical design capability, and strong commercial awareness to deliver tailored solutions that meet client requirements while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop technically compliant and commercially viable solutions for firefighting and fire compartmentation systems, including sprinkler systems, gaseous suppression systems, and fire doors. Review client requirements, tender documentation, and technical specifications to prepare accurate proposals, quotations, and submission packages.

Conduct site visits, inspections, and technical assessments to identify project requirements, risks, and opportunities for optimisation. Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure effective communication, successful project execution, and customer satisfaction. Perform value engineering activities to improve solution efficiency, cost effectiveness, and competitiveness while maintaining quality standards.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, company procedures, and quality requirements while maintaining accurate technical documentation.

Requirements

Previous A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, with relevant experience in technical sales or sales engineering. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical sales, solutions engineering, or related engineering role. Previous experience within fire protection, fire safety, or security systems will be considered a strong advantage.

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions. Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills with a commercial mindset. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively within a technical and commercial team.

Licenses & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Maltese Engineering Warrant or currently working towards obtaining the warrant. Knowledge of relevant fire safety standards and certifications, including ISO and LPCB requirements. Valid Maltese driving licence.
