About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join a fast-growing travel technology company building its own end-to-end booking platform. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will play a key part in evolving the product from a proposal tool into a fully integrated booking engine. You will work directly with a globally distributed team (India + US) , contributing to core product development and bringing strong expertise in travel domain and GDS integrations , especially SABRE.
This is a new position , created to expand technical expertise and improve timezone coverage with the U.S. What You’ll Do Design, build, and maintain integrations with SABRE APIs and/or other GDS systems Develop and enhance a booking engine supporting hotels, flights, and future travel services Work on backend services and APIs powering travel workflows (booking, ticketing, cancellations) Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and QA teams across different timezones Take ownership of features end-to-end, from design to production Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of integrations and systems Contribute to improving engineering practices (code quality, testing, architecture maturity) Must-Have Requirements Strong experience in travel technology / travel domain Hands-on experience with SABRE APIs (highly preferred) Experience with other GDS (Amadeus, Travelport) can be considered Solid backend engineering experience (5–10+ years or equivalent expertise) Experience building API integrations and distributed systems Strong understanding of: Booking flows (air, hotel, etc.)
Ticketing and cancellations GDS ecosystem and travel workflows Experience with PHP (Laravel) or strong backend experience with ability to adapt Experience with relational databases (MySQL or similar) Ability to work autonomously and operate in a senior IC capacity Nice to Have Experience with Python or other backend languages Experience with AWS (or GCP / Azure) Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.
