Description: Community Consolidated School District 89 is seeking a Full-Time, 1:1 CNA for Westfield Elementary School. This position is five days a week, during the school day (approximately 7 hours) and supports the needs of a Special Education student in our classroom. This position would be for the 2026-2027 school year working 179 days.

Qualifications: All applicants for this position are required to meet Illinois requirements for a licensed CNA.

**Duties and Responsibilities (may include but not limited to the following): **

  • Assist students with physical elements of hygiene, bath rooming, occupational therapy, feeding, clothing, diapering, transfers, etc.
  • Assist students with daily transitions (e.g., transition between tasks and/or rooms, lunch, playground, etc.)
  • Assist students in the general education classroom, helping the student to access the curriculum under supervision of the special education teacher
  • Assist the special education teacher in implementing student's Individual Educational Plan (IEP) goals and accommodations
  • Monitor the student to ensure his/her safety and the safety of other people
  • Foster and encourage the independence of the student
  • Establish a positive and nurturing relationship with the student
  • Assist in supporting classroom discipline
  • Assist student during field trips and other outings (e.g., assist transportation drivers secure wheelchairs when appropriate, on bus/van, assist students with orientation and mobility, assist teacher(s) in monitoring students for safety, etc.)
  • Collect and maintain data as directed by supervising teacher

**Salary and Benefits: ** All non-certified staff that fall under the Support Professional Association "SPA" are placed on a salary schedule according to position and experience as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The hourly range for this position is: $24.00-27.25

Non-Certified staff experience 12 sick days and 2 personal days of paid time off. All full-time staff have the privilege of partaking in our health and dental insurance programs; these include 90% Board paid health insurance for the employee (80% Board paid for Family participants) and 100% Board paid dental insurance for the individual staff member.
