It has sold more than 8.75 million vehicles, providing products and services for users in more than 80 countries and regions around the world every day We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Legal to lead and manage the legal processes within our company.

This role involves providing legal guidance, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, mitigating risks, and supporting business objectives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive legal experience in the automotive sector, strong leadership skills, and the ability to align legal strategies with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the company’s legal strategy to support business objectives. Advise the executive team on legal risks, opportunities, and compliance requirements. Lead and manage the legal department, including external counsel, ensuring high-quality and timely advice. Ensure the company complies with local, national, and international automotive regulations, including environmental and safety standards.

Monitor and manage compliance with laws related to manufacturing, distribution, intellectual property, and labor. Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting the automotive industry. Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, including supplier agreements, partnerships, and customer terms. Minimize contractual risks while maximizing value for the company.

Handle and manage all legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations. Develop risk mitigation strategies to prevent future disputes. Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements, including board and shareholder matters. Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with new technologies (e.

g., electric vehicles, autonomous driving) and emerging markets. Provide training and guidance to other departments on legal and compliance matters.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); Master’s degree in Law or related field preferred. Qualified legal practitioner with a valid license to practice law. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in corporate legal roles, with at least 5 years in the automotive industry. Proven track record in managing legal teams and advising senior management.

Strong knowledge of automotive regulations, intellectual property, contract law, and corporate governance. Strategic thinking with the ability to align legal strategies with business objectives. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proactive approach to risk management and compliance. Strong leadership and people management abilities.
