Job description

The IT Assistant will support the day-to-day IT operations across all KOFISI centres in Kenya. The role focuses on ensuring reliable network connectivity, secure systems, well-functioning AV and phone systems, effective access control, and accurate asset management across all locations. This is a hands-on, multi-site role requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond quickly to operational issues in a fast-paced co-working and hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure Management

  • Assist in managing wired and wireless networks across all KOFISI centres
  • Support configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network equipment (routers, switches, access points)
  • Monitor network performance, uptime, and connectivity issues and escalate where necessary
  • Assist with ISP coordination, link testing, and failover support Network & Centre Security
  • Support implementation and monitoring of network security controls (firewalls, VLANs, access restrictions)
  • Assist in securing IT infrastructure and ensuring compliance with internal IT security standards
  • Identify and report potential security risks across centres AV Systems Support
  • Support installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV systems in meeting rooms, boardrooms, training rooms, and event spaces
  • Assist users with Airtame, HDMI connections, conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet), microphones, speakers, and cameras
  • Ensure AV equipment is functional and ready before meetings and events Phone & Communication Systems
  • Support IP phone and VoIP systems including desk phones, extensions, and provisioning
  • Assist with setup, troubleshooting, and basic administration of phone systems across centres Access Control Systems
  • Assist in managing access control systems including cards, readers, doors, and permissions
  • Support staff onboarding and offboarding by updating access rights
  • Troubleshoot access control faults and coordinate repairs Asset Management
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records including laptops, phones, printers, AV equipment, and network devices
  • Assist with asset tagging, tracking, audits, and lifecycle management
  • Support procurement, deployment, and decommissioning of IT equipment User Support & Operations
  • Provide first-level IT support to staff, members, and clients across centres
  • Respond to IT support requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with IT setups for new offices, events, and centre expansions
  • Document common issues, procedures, and quick-use guides Requirements Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience in IT support, network support, or a similar role
  • Practical experience supporting networks (LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing), AV systems, access control, and IP phone systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to support multiple sites and work in a hands-on operational environment Added Advantage
  • CCNA certification or progress toward CCNA
  • Cybersecurity and/or networking courses or certifications
  • Experience with Uni. Fi or similar enterprise networking platforms
  • Experience working in multi-site, co-working, hospitality, or corporate environments
