What you'll do
You’ll be ensuring the consistency of HR policy and procedure advice, and providing quality assurance in the approaches taken in the HR advisory and case teams.
You’ll also be managing the approach to complex cases and employment tribunals, reviewing information to highlight trends, issues and opportunities applying this to policy and process. And you’ll be guiding the business through the case in real time, intervening and steering in the appropriate direction, taking account of governing policies, employment law, best practice, business priorities and precedent.
You’ll also be:
- Providing professional advice, guidance and support on cases and issues, applying in scope policies, relevant employment law and jurisdictional practices
- Contributing to the development of the continuous improvement process by leading relevant projects identified or through your own proposals and ideas
- Protecting and enhancing the reputation of our HR function
- Ensuring continual development of specialist employment law and best practice knowledge and understanding, and taking personal responsibility for maintaining knowledge of developments within the HR industry
- Utilising client feedback and turning into actions for improvement linking into key stakeholders
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll need thorough and specialist knowledge of employment law and best practice, with excellent project management skills the ability to balance multiple and conflicting priorities. You’ll also have an in-depth understanding of in scope policies and a broad understanding of additional organisational policies.
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Previous experience of working in a professional HR capacity incorporating employee relations, relationship management and coaching
- The ability to probe, evaluate and diagnose complex situations and able to provide practical solutions
- A high level of knowledge of the employment tribunal process and procedures
- Risk assessment and management experience
Excellent communication and influencing skills in order to positively steer the outcome of cases and minimise risk for the organisation
