Job Summary
The Officer, Transaction Operations supports the day-to-day operation of the national payment rail — monitoring payment services, performing routine processing operations and checks, handling transaction exceptions and providing first observation of incidents — under the direction of the Head, Transaction Operations and the day-to-day guidance of the Senior Officer, Transaction Operations.
The role is an important part of the team that keeps national payment infrastructure available and correct, and operates to a shift or on-call pattern in support of a continuously operating rail. Main Responsibilities Monitoring and Processing Operations Monitor the national rail and payment services using the Company’s monitoring tools, and report deviations promptly.
Perform routine daily processing operations, checks and controls to defined procedures and service levels. Respond to alerts under guidance and follow the correct response run-book. Support operational verification of new channels and releases. Exception and Incident Support Handle routine transaction-level exceptions — investigating, resolving within authority, or escalating — and route items correctly to Settlement and Reconciliation where required.
Provide first observation and logging of processing incidents, and support the Senior Officer and Head during incidents. Record incidents and exceptions accurately and completely, and maintain shift-handover notes. Controls, Records and Compliance Operate processing controls in line with scheme rules, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Support transaction monitoring and flag anomalous or suspicious activity. Maintain accurate operational records and logs. Team and Improvement Work under the guidance of the Senior Officer, Transaction Operations, and collaborate with the team. Follow run-books and procedures, and suggest improvements where routine issues recur.
Participate in a shift or on-call rota as required.
Requirements
Person Profile The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and reliable operations officer who follows procedure carefully, communicates clearly, and is developing incident-handling capability. The individual is willing to work a shift or on-call pattern and takes seriously the responsibility of supporting national payment infrastructure.
Academic Qualifications and Experience Academic Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of qualification and demonstrable experience. Experience A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years in operations, IT operations, banking or payment operations, or a monitoring or support role.
Familiarity with monitoring, ticketing or dashboarding tools is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and reliability, and willingness to work a shift or on-call pattern, including weekends and public holidays.
