Job description

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care. RecruitNet International Ltd is hiring an Healthcare Assistant for a Nursing home in Co Cork, Ireland.

Responsibilities

Support nursing staff and the care team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care that meets all resident needs. Build positive relationships with residents by understanding their interests and providing attention, support, and companionship. Promote and assist with resident mobility, supervising as needed to maintain or improve their level of independence.

Assist residents with personal hygiene and appearance, ensuring their dignity is always respected. Communicate any changes or concerns regarding a resident’s condition or daily life to the nursing team. Support residents with eating, drinking, and achieving physical comfort. Participate in, organise, and facilitate social and recreational activities.

Maintain strong communication with residents’ families and help foster positive relationships. Assist in upholding high standards of cleanliness throughout the home. Contribute to maintaining a safe environment and adhering to Health and Safety procedures. Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Nurse in Charge or management Requirements Healthcare support knowledge (FETAC/QQI Level 5 or equivalent) Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.

Empathetic, kind, and caring approach to supporting residents and delivering high quality care. Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and responsibility in daily duties. Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Positive attitude with the ability to remain professional and resilient in a demanding care environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing person centred care. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and team members. Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, and Garda Vetting.

Previous experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable, with a good understanding of HIQA standards and their application in practice.
