Job description
About T-Systems International GmbH At T-Systems, we provide our business customers with the right system solutions for their digital business. With our portfolio, we ensure that digital transformation reduces complexity, lowers costs, and makes everyday work easier. Our focus areas are connectivity, digital solutions, cloud and infrastructure, and security – Let's power higher performance!
About the Position As an AI-Assisted Software Engineer, you will support technical due diligence and transition readiness by applying AI-assisted software engineering methods to complex enterprise cloud and platform environments. A central objective of the role is to analyse, document, and further develop a cloud software stack derived from Open.
Stack, including its service decomposition, control-plane components, interfaces, dependencies, and build structure. You will analyse large software repositories to identify services, interfaces, dependencies, build flows, and technical risks. Using AI coding agents and structured prompting methods, you will accelerate codebase understanding, reverse engineering, dependency discovery, and technical documentation across complex software environments.
You will reconstruct the architecture of modular cloud platforms, support the diagnosis of build and compilation issues, and assess reproducibility across CI/CD pipelines and container-based delivery environments. You will also produce structured handover materials such as architecture summaries, dependency maps, code-quality observations, and readiness assessments for receiving engineering teams.
Working closely with software architecture, DevOps, testing, and security specialists, you will translate AI-assisted findings into clear, actionable, and traceable engineering outputs. Must-Have Skills At least five years of professional experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps-oriented development roles Strong programming skills in Python Experience in at least one systems or backend language such as Java, Go, C, C++, or Rust Solid knowledge of Git, CI/CD, container builds, and Kubernetes-based delivery Experience analysing large and complex software repositories Practical experience with codebase exploration, reverse engineering, and dependency discovery Experience diagnosing build logs, compilation issues, and delivery-pipeline failures Strong understanding of software architecture and modular service environments Experience producing technical documentation and structured engineering deliverables Analytical and structured working style in complex and ambiguous environments Ability to work in enterprise environments with high standards for confidentiality, traceability, and evidence quality Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with Open.
Stack or comparable modular cloud platforms Knowledge of Open. Stack services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, and Glance Experience with Open. Stack control-plane architectures, APIs, and service dependencies Practical experience with AI coding tools such as Windsurf, Cursor, Claude Code, or VS Code-based AI extensions Experience using advanced coding models through enterprise-approved interfaces Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Jenkins, Argo CD, Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes Experience with terminal-based automation and repository-scale engineering workflows Knowledge of technical debt analysis, code-quality assessment, and transition-readiness reviews Experience with Kubernetes integration patterns in Open.
Stack-oriented environments Familiarity with technical due diligence or software handover projects What You Can Expect You can expect a challenging role at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, and technical due diligence. You will use modern AI-assisted engineering methods to analyse complex codebases, reconstruct software architectures, diagnose build issues, and improve transition readiness.
You will work with Open. Stack-derived cloud environments, AI coding tools, CI/CD platforms, container technologies, and Kubernetes-based delivery models. Your work will make a significant contribution to the structured, traceable, and efficient handover of complex enterprise software platforms.
