of Beds in Department: 10 L&D beds Trauma Level: Level 1 (St. Vincent), L&D Level 4 EMR System: EPIC Specialty Backup Available: Other OB/GYNs, OB residents Support Staff Available: Residents, nursing staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Low Risk Pregnancy (i.e. History of Twins, Toxemia, Pyelonephritis, etc.)
High Risk Pregnancy (i.e. with Toxemia, Diabetes, Class II or Higher Cardiacs, Chronic Lung Disease, etc.) FHR Interpretation – NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds – Performance of Interpretation Routine Delivery – Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section Complicated Delivery – C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.
VBAC’s Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations Operative/Major Gynecology – Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOA’s, Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation, LOA’s, Chromal Tubation Surgical Gynecology – Open Office/Minor Gynecology – IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, etc. JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified (OB/GYN) Licenses: Active Ohio Medical License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide OB hospitalist coverage for Labor and Delivery.
Manage low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients. Perform routine and complicated deliveries, including C-sections and VBACs. Collaborate with OB residents and midwives in a teaching setting. Perform gynecological procedures including operative and office-based procedures.
