Job description

Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for leading and developing a team of software engineers and contributing to the delivery of high‑quality software solutions. This role partners with product owners, architects, and cross‑functional stakeholders to implement engineering standards, support Agile practices, and ensure efficient execution of software development activities.

The position focuses on team leadership, hands‑on delivery oversight, process improvement, and fostering a collaborative and high‑performing engineering culture. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers and technical resources
  • Support continuous improvement and skill enhancement of team members
  • Manage day‑to‑day engineering operations and resource allocations
  • Build strong working relationships with product, business, and technology partners
  • Provide estimations, prioritize engineering tasks, and adjust plans as needed
  • Support Agile processes and ensure adherence to engineering best practices
  • Conduct regular team meetings and one‑on‑one sessions with direct reports
  • Manage work‑in‑progress (WIP) and help teams balance capacity
  • Translate product roadmaps into engineering work items and execution plans
  • Support data‑driven decision‑making for technical investments
  • Assess challenges, propose solutions, and escalate issues when required
  • Collaborate with architecture and security teams to meet technical standards
  • Support process improvements and adoption of emerging technologies
  • Manage small‑to‑medium sized projects and cross‑team collaboration
  • Assist with budget awareness for resources, tools, and operational needs
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and resolve team‑level conflicts
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative engineering culture Requirements Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related fields Years of Experience: 8–14 years of experience:
  • In Software Engineering, People management
  • In stakeholder management
  • In software development
  • In software architecture In Engineering standards, Processes and Frameworks 2+ years of experience:
  • In a management position Skills and Capabilities People Management Skills
  • Strong managerial and team building skills
  • Process oriented, methodological
  • Strong communication skills for communicating with technology resources, product SMEs, business owners and vendors Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of best practices for Software development processes and methodologies
  • Prior management experience required, experience with software applications and full project lifecycle required and program management
  • Experience in leading software development projects and teams
  • Functional knowledge of software architecture best practices and processes
  • Knowledge of modern application development frameworks (C#, .NET Core, native mobile frameworks, Azure, AWS, GCP ,. Java, Python, GenAI, DevOps)
  • Experience with Lean Development tools and Agile methodologies a plus
