Senior Product Analyst – OpenLAB CDS (Agilent)
Job description
We are looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join a global pharmaceutical R&D organization supporting the Agilent OpenLAB CDS 2.x platform, one of the core laboratory systems used by hundreds of scientists across GxP and non-GxP environments. You will act as the bridge between laboratory scientists, quality teams, IT, and integration teams, ensuring the successful onboarding, configuration, governance, and continuous improvement of the OpenLAB Chromatography Data System.
This is a highly business-facing role combining Business Analysis, Product Analysis, Laboratory Informatics, SDLC, Validation, and stakeholder management rather than software development.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Business Analysis Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, laboratory teams, Quality, and IT. Gather and analyse business requirements for OpenLAB CDS implementations and migrations. Conduct workshops and intake sessions with laboratories migrating to OpenLAB CDS. Understand laboratory workflows and translate business needs into system configuration requirements.
Document business processes, workflows, use cases, and functional specifications. Laboratory Informatics Analyse chromatography laboratory workflows. Support OpenLAB CDS configuration decisions including: Metadata Sample templates User roles Permissions Calculations Data workflows Explain configuration decisions to both technical and business stakeholders.
GxP & Validation Understand differences between GxP and non-GxP laboratory environments. Support validated laboratory systems. Create documentation required under GxP and SDLC processes. Assist with validation planning and documentation. Ensure audit readiness. Integration Analysis Lead analysis activities for OpenLAB CDS integrations with enterprise laboratory systems.
Gather integration requirements. Document data mapping. Coordinate with integration teams. Support validation of integrations. User Acceptance Testing Define testing strategies. Create regression test cases. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Coordinate testing with business users. Analyse defects and support issue resolution.
User Adoption & Training Support large-scale onboarding programmes. Develop user documentation. Create training materials. Deliver user training. Produce FAQs and self-service content. Reduce recurring support requests. Product Lifecycle & Vendor Management Review Agilent OpenLAB quarterly releases. Perform impact assessments.
Recommend configuration updates. Communicate release impacts to stakeholders. Maintain system documentation throughout the SDLC. Support & Governance Provide first-level functional support. Prioritise issues. Escalate technical problems. Track requests through ServiceNow/JIRA. Maintain governance documentation and decision logs.
