Senior Software Engineer (Python / AWS / React) – Clinical Data Platform

Join a team building the Clinical Data Layer, a cloud-native platform that transforms and standardizes clinical trial data into the CDISC SDTM model used for regulatory submissions and clinical research. You'll develop both backend and frontend components of a modern AWS-based platform, designing scalable data pipelines, APIs, and analyst-facing applications.

This role combines cloud engineering, backend development, infrastructure automation, and modern frontend technologies. The platform directly supports clinical trial analysis, drug development, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Design and extend cloud-native clinical data transformation pipelines Develop Python services running on AWS Lambda Build workflows using AWS Step Functions Develop GraphQL APIs with AWS App. Sync Contribute to the React + TypeScript frontend Design scalable event-driven distributed systems Manage infrastructure using Terraform Develop large-scale data processing solutions with Databricks Participate in architecture design and technical discussions Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers Improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions Troubleshoot production issues across AWS services Write clean, testable, maintainable code Requirements Experience 7+ years of Software Engineering experience Programming Python Pytest Lambda Powertools Object-Oriented Design Clean Architecture Testing AWS AWS Lambda AWS Step Functions Amazon S3 DynamoDB IAM Candidates should understand: scalability latency fault tolerance distributed systems cost optimization —not simply how to use AWS services.
