Job description

Position Context The CAE Optimization & NVH Lead Engineer is responsible for leading virtual development activities related to Body-in-White (BIW) structural optimization and NVH performance. The role serves as the technical focal point for BIW stiffness development, dynamic performance, vibration reduction, and lightweight optimization to ensure achievement of vehicle NVH, mass, cost, and structural performance targets.

Position Responsibilities Lead CAE activities for BIW structural optimization and NVH development throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Define and execute simulation plans aligned with vehicle NVH, stiffness, durability, and weight targets. Perform and guide: Modal Analysis Frequency Response Analysis (FRF) Dynamic Stiffness Analysis Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) Body Structural Optimization Topology and Size Optimization BIW Torsional and Bending Stiffness Analysis Develop and maintain BIW finite element models for concept and production vehicle programs.

Drive optimization of BIW structures to improve: Body Modes Road Noise Performance Powertrain Isolation Structural Vibration Weight Efficiency Identify root causes of NVH and structural performance issues and recommend design improvements. Collaborate with BIW Design, Vehicle Integration, Chassis, Powertrain, and NVH Test teams to achieve attribute targets.

Correlate CAE predictions with physical NVH and structural test data. Support vehicle benchmarking and competitive assessments. Review supplier CAE deliverables and provide technical guidance. Mentor junior engineers and establish CAE/NVH best practices and methodologies.
