Role Overview The Senior IT Project Manager will confidently lead complex, cross-functional technology projects in a fast-moving environment. The role brings together technical insight, business understanding, and strong leadership to deliver key systems that improve operations, support digital transformation, and enhance both customer and employee experience.

You will work closely with executives, business teams, vendors, and technical specialists to ensure successful delivery from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the full delivery lifecycle of large IT and business transformation projects, from initiation through to closure Manage planning, execution, tracking, and delivery of multiple enterprise initiatives simultaneously Deliver large-scale programmes, including SAP (ECC / S/4HANA) and Workday HR implementations Oversee a portfolio of projects across business applications, retail systems, and enterprise platforms Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, within scope, and to agreed quality standards Manage SAP solution delivery, upgrades, and enhancements Support Workday HR deployments including HCM, payroll integration, and HR lifecycle processes Coordinate integration of systems across finance, HR, supply chain, and retail environments Contribute to data migration, system upgrades, and modernisation initiatives Support retail technology solutions such as POS, inventory management, supply chain, and merchandising systems Drive omnichannel and customer experience improvement initiatives Work closely with senior stakeholders to align delivery with business priorities and strategy Manage vendors, system integrators, and external consultants Run steering committees and provide clear, concise executive reporting Maintain strong communication across all levels of the organisation Establish project governance, reporting standards, and delivery controls Manage project budgets, forecasts, procurement, and financial tracking Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and security standards Lead change management activities, including training, communication, and business readiness Support smooth transition into production and operational support Qualification and Experience Matric (Grade 12) required Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or related field PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred Agile/Scrum certification beneficial Exposure to SAP or Workday systems advantageous 7+ years’ experience in IT or programme/project management Proven track record of delivering large-scale enterprise projects Strong SAP implementation and upgrade experience Hands-on experience with Workday HR systems (HCM, payroll, HR processes) Experience in retail or multi-channel environments (POS, supply chain, merchandising) Strong understanding of enterprise system integration Experience managing multiple vendors and delivery teams Strong financial and budget management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement Comfortable working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments
