Job description
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced PPC Head to lead production planning and control functions, ensuring timely manufacturing, optimal inventory levels, and efficient utilization of plant resources. The role will be responsible for aligning demand with production capabilities while driving operational efficiency and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling Develop monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts and confirmed orders Create detailed production schedules (line-wise/machine-wise) Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, and capacity
- Material & Inventory Planning Ensure availability of raw materials and components in line with production plans Monitor and control inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG) Avoid stock-outs and excess inventory
- Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate closely with: Sales for demand planning Procurement for material availability Production/Plant for execution Logistics for dispatch planning
- Production Monitoring & Control Track production vs plan and ensure adherence Identify bottlenecks, delays, and inefficiencies Drive corrective and preventive actions
- Process Improvement & Efficiency Lead initiatives for: Reduction in production lead time Inventory optimization Improved on-time delivery (OTIF) Implement best practices in planning and scheduling
- Systems & Reporting Utilize ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle, etc.) for planning and tracking Generate MIS reports on: Production performance Inventory levels Delivery adherence Requirements Key KRAs / KPIs Production plan adherence (%) On-time delivery (OTIF/OTD) Inventory turnover Reduction in lead time Capacity utilization Team Structure Reports to: Plant Head / Operations Head Team: PPC Managers, Production Planners, MIS Executives Candidate Profile Education B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering MBA (Operations) preferred Experience 12–18 years in manufacturing industry Strong exposure to appliance / consumer durable / engineering manufacturing preferred Skills & Competencies Strong expertise in production planning & scheduling Experience in material planning & inventory control Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent coordination and stakeholder management Preferred Background Candidates from appliance, consumer durable, or similar high-volume manufacturing setups Experience in multi-product and high SKU environments
