Job Summary
The Compliance/Audit Officer plays a critical role in ensuring FIRST MISSION’s adherence to donor regulations, internal policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards. This position is responsible for monitoring compliance across all programs and operations, identifying risks, and implementing effective controls to safeguard organizational integrity.
The officer supports the development and maintenance of robust compliance frameworks, facilitates audit readiness, and promotes a culture of accountability and transparency. With a focus on continuous improvement, the role ensures that all activities align with regulatory expectations and donor mandates, contributing directly to the organization’s sustainability and credibility.
Responsibilities
Ensure organizational compliance with donor regulations, contractual requirements, and internal policies. Conduct regular compliance reviews, risk assessments, and internal audits. Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks and internal control systems. Investigate compliance incidents and recommend timely, effective corrective actions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance documentation and records. Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance, ethics, safeguarding, and anti-fraud standards. Collaborate with program and finance teams to ensure compliance during project implementation. Support external audits and monitoring missions, including preparation and follow-up.
Advise management on legal, regulatory, and compliance-related matters.
