Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Trade Policy Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our organization’s engagement with national trade frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring evolving foreign trade policies, customs regulations, GST laws, and related legislative developments, ensuring our members remain compliant and competitive in global markets.

This role involves drafting strategic policy submissions, representing the Council in high-level government consultations, and providing expert guidance to exporters on regulatory challenges. The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between industry stakeholders and government authorities, driving informed policy advocacy and operational support.

This position is critical in enhancing the export ecosystem and strengthening our members’ international trade capabilities.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze developments in Foreign Trade Policy, Customs regulations, GST laws, and allied trade-related legislations. Draft representations, policy notes, submissions, and recommendations for submission to Government Ministries and Departments. Liaise with Central and State Government authorities, DGFT, Customs, GST officials, and banking institutions on trade-related matters.

Assist member exporters in resolving policy, procedural, and regulatory issues related to exports and imports. Prepare comprehensive reports, policy briefs, circulars, and communications for internal and external stakeholders. Represent the Council in meetings, consultations, and stakeholder engagement sessions.

Requirements

Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Proven exposure to Foreign Trade Policy, Customs & GST laws, Banking, and Export–Import procedures. Excellent command of English (written and spoken), with strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable insights for members.

Experience in policy advocacy, government liaison, or trade support services is highly desirable. Proficiency in document drafting, research, and report preparation. Desired Candidate: A proactive, solution-driven professional with a keen interest in trade policy and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Prior experience in a trade association, export promotion body, or government advisory role is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders are essential. Candidates who demonstrate a commitment to advancing India’s export competitiveness and possess a strategic mindset will thrive in this role.
