Job description

Certain. Teed Corporation’s Ceilings Division seeks a finance professional to support its Panels facilities (L’Anse, MI and Plymouth, WI) with plant controlling and analytical business performance responsibilities, including month-end financial close, cost variance analysis, budgeting, compliance, and internal reporting, with up to 25% travel to other sites.

Essential skills include strong analytical abilities, general ledger accounting, manufacturing variance analysis, ERP and Excel proficiency, and multiple IT platforms knowledge, alongside critical soft skills such as integrity, attention to detail, customer service, independence, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.

Plant controlling responsibilities+ Manage timely completion of month-end financial close + Analyze/reconcile accounts to ensure the balance sheet and costs are properly stated + Prepare and enter adjusting journal entries + Prepare and analyze monthly operating cost variances to standard, prior month, prior year and provide meaningful commentary + Maintain proper spending controls + Lead and direct budgeting process at plant + Lead and direct annual standard cost roll at plant for manufactured products + Ensure compliance with SGC, Certain.

Teed and Ceilings division policies and internal controls + Monitor/facilitate Capex project completions and fixed asset capitalizations/retirements + Support the development and implementation of policies + Travel and support to other sites required (up to 25% of time)Analytical business performance support+ Support plant management team through meaningful analysis of costs and trends.

  • Development and improvement of plant internal reporting + Challenge financial performance results, identify issues and proactively initiate analyses and solutions to business issues + Identify (e.g. via cost deployment) and track cost savings opportunities + Proactively initiate analyses and solutions to plant issues + Develop mid-month forecastsEducation & Experience:+ Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA or MBA preferable or equivalent + 3-5 years of increasing responsibility, preferably in a manufacturing environment + Understanding of GAAP or IAS, costs & inventory accounting, fixed assets + SAP experience a plus + Ability to handle and understand multiple IT platformsEssential Skills+ Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex topics to a non-financial audience + Solid foundation in general ledger accounting + Experience analyzing variances in a manufacturing/cost accounting environment + Experience with large ERP systems + Strong Excel skills + Ability to handle and understand multiple IT platformsCritical Soft Skills + Integrity + Rigor, attention to detail + Strong sense of customer service + Work independently, self-motivated + Work well in teams and across functional areas + Problem solver + Agility and ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous priorities and projects + Strong organizational skills + Agility and ability to work effectively in teams and across functional areas + Influence without authority Through the responsible development of innovative and sustainable building products,-Certain.
