Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the Cape Town,
- Supervise daily on-site construction activities
- Coordinate subcontractors, artisans, and general labour teams.
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Allocate tasks and monitor productivity
- Enforce compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations
- Conduct toolbox talks and daily safety briefings.
- Ensure proper use of PPE on site.
- Report and investigate incidents and near-misses.
- Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with SANS standards and project specifications.
- Identify and rectify defects promptly.
- Liaise with engineers and inspectors regarding quality issues.
- Monitor material usage and prevent wastage.
- Check deliveries against orders and specifications.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and used properly.
- Maintain daily site diaries and progress reports.
- Record labour attendance and timesheets.
- Provide regular progress updates to Site/Project Manager.
- Assist with planning and scheduling activities.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Trade Certificate / qualification in Construction or related field
- 5–10 years’ construction experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory/foreman role.
- Experience in commercial and industrial projects
- Valid drivers license
