Job description
We are hiring a Lead Frontend Engineer to own frontend architecture, performance strategy, real-time communication systems, and scalable UI architecture across complex web platforms. This role requires deep technical leadership, hands-on expertise in Next.js and modern React, and the ability to design systems that scale sustainably over time.
The ideal candidate understands architectural trade-offs in rendering models, styling strategies, and state management, and can drive frontend excellence across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and own scalable frontend architecture for complex, high-traffic web applications. Define application structure, module boundaries, shared component libraries, and long-term maintainability strategies. Drive architectural decisions around rendering models (SSR, SSG, ISR, CSR), styling systems, and state/data flow.
Implement architectural patterns such as component-driven development, domain-based organization, and micro-frontends where applicable. Build and maintain production-grade applications using Next.js and modern React with TypeScript. Design and evolve reusable component libraries and enterprise-level design systems. Architect and manage complex state systems, clearly separating server state, client state, and UI state.
Implement real-time communication features using Web. Sockets, SSE, or WebRTC with proper reconnection and consistency strategies. Own frontend performance optimization including code splitting, bundle analysis, memoization, virtualization, and Core Web Vitals improvements. Ensure frontend security best practices including XSS, CSRF mitigation, secure authentication flows, and CSP implementation.
Evaluate and integrate UI, form, validation, and data visualization libraries aligned with scalability goals. Work closely with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, CDN strategies, caching, edge deployments, monitoring, and observability. Lead code reviews focusing on architecture quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.
Mentor frontend engineers and establish coding standards, best practices, and architectural documentation (ADRs, diagrams). Collaborate with backend engineers and solution architects in cross-functional design discussions.
Requirements
10+ years of frontend or web engineering experience. Minimum 3+ years of production-level experience with Next.js. Expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern browser fundamentals. Deep expertise in frontend architecture, scalable UI systems, and design systems. Strong experience with advanced state management patterns and real-time frontend systems.
Proven track record of leading frontend architecture at scale in production environments. Experience with performance tooling such as Lighthouse, Web Vitals, and browser profiles. Strong understanding of frontend security principles and secure coding practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
